DeFabrique Holding, a family company founded in the year 2000, is dedicated to repurposing buildings to create unique leisure and event venues where people of all ages come together. We have one mission: to connect the past and future in a continuous story built on lasting memories.

2000

Entrepreneur Jan van Eck

For initiator Jan, entrepreneurship has been instilled from birth.

Purchase of compound feed plant

Jan receives the UTD compound feed plant in Maarssen as a gift from his wife Krijnie for his 50th birthday.

Opening Kartfabrique

The first step in repurposing the former factory has been taken: Kartfabrique is bringing new life to the site.

Opening DeFabrique

A new chapter begins on the factory site: our location block the Perserij welcomes the first event.

Opening JAN Verhuur

With the establishment of JAN Verhuur, a specialist in event décor rental, DeFabrique Holding is expanding its services.

New: Lasertag

Kartfabrique opens the largest laser game arena in the Netherlands with a whopping 900m2 and three floors of gaming space.

First online booking

The first online booking at Kartfabrique through our self-developed software (now known as Briq Bookings) (an important step in the digitalization of the company).

New: Prison Island

Kartfabrique opens new activity: Prison Island, a unique game concept to be played for the first time in the Netherlands.

Opening Vliegveld Twenthe

A former military airbase has been repurposed as an event location. Vliegveld Twenthe opens its doors for business events.

Briq Bookings founded

After the success of our online booking software for Kartfabrique, Briq Bookings was created, making this software now accessible to other leisure companies.

Opening De Utrechtse Stadsvrijheid

DeFabrique is expanding with DUS Utrecht, a new location especially for meetings and small-scale events.

Acquisition of Wunderland Kalkar

After compound feed mill and military airfield, now across the border to Germany with a nuclear reactor repurposed as an amusement park, event location and hotel.

Opening Parque West

A new milestone: 3 generations strike the first pole of the largest climbing park in the Netherlands, Parque West.

New: Simracing

Kartfabrique switches to a higher gear and introduces new activity: Simracen, a virtual racing experience.

Parque West expands

The addition of mini golf, supping, VR activities and a restaurant will expand the offerings into a complete day out for all audiences.

Our passion for repurposing buildings in the leisure and event industry is the heart of our family company. From father to son, we pass on our entrepreneurial spirit and ideas to create lasting memories.

This passion resonates throughout the organization. We take a hands-on, down-to-earth approach, with short lines of communication that keep us close to our businesses. Everyone addresses each other by their first name, colleagues feel like family and every day we make sure to surprise our guests with attention, surprising entertainment, and delicious food. We strive to combine entrepreneurship with hospitality and commitment.
